Higher Thoughts (repost from friendster)

"Set your mind on higher things."
"As a man thinketh in his heart so is he."
Sometimes we are so focused on our situation and our circumstance that our mind gets so narrow. We tend to look so closely on our problem and our needs that we forget that we can still go beyond them - narrow thinking. Pastor Mitch once preached that there are three thing that we should make a choice on, and one of them is "to choose to go beyond our current situation". We should choose to "stop becoming a victim and start becoming a victor". One of my mentors said it this way, "forget your victim stories". Our victim stories will never propel us to where God wants us to be. They will just make us feel bad and defeated and "lo-uy" and if we continue to dwell on that thinking we will never be what God wants us to be.
The two passages above are quoted from the Bible this means that God, the Author of the Bible, wants us to go beyond our own thinking and stop becoming a victim. We have a choice, we can choose to dwell on our present or go beyond and believe God for greater things. Jeremiah 29:11 says that God has planned to have a good future for us. Let us believe God for that.
