The name of the game...

The game has changed... the name of the game is now "Go changin' rearrangin'".

We are now likely to ask...
"what has changed?"
"What has caused the change?"
"Will the change affect me?"
"What changes will I make to cope with the change?"

The game has changed... we need to change to play the game.
Otherwise, we will be left out.

Josiah created this blog to note positive thoughts and inspiring events in his life.
In the process... he discovered that he can't just note positive things since that means
hiding other areas of his life where things didn't turned out quite positively. This means further that this blog will fail to chronicle Josiah's life.

A man named Jabez once prayed to God by saying, "Oh God... that you will expand my territory...".

New roles, new responsiblities, new endeavour, new heights, new dreams, new vision, new open doors, new oppurtunities and the like are signs that our territory is expanding.

While expanding could sound exciting, it is often painful. Expanding territory involves changes and some of these changes caused us to feel different emotions.

Jabez added to his prayers, "Oh God... that you will be with me in all that I do...". In these moments of increase and expansion we need God to be with us in all that we do. We need God's favor, God's Spirit, and God's mercy to be with us.

Interestingly, God grated Jabez ALL of what he prayed for.:) And God can do it also for us. Amen.

Prayers to a deaf God?

Think about this... if God really is all powerful and He hears and answers prayers then, prayer is the most powerful and most effective thing that we can do everyday - not to mention the wisest.

After reading the novel Blink by Ted Dekker, I pondered about this fact and believe in my heart that prayer is the best investment I can do with my time in a daily basis. And after starting to develop [meaning, I started underachieving then grow bit by bit], God keep showing up! Everyday, I begun to from walking from victory to victory. Life did not became easy though but I no longer get easily shaken when I face adversity since I just talk about it to God then I begun to become confident that God has my best interest at heart. And God would just show His outstretched arms and help me! Isn't that amazing?

One of the latest that happened was on January 1, 2006. It has been a practice in our family to pray every time the year ends. I asked them to pray for 3-4 things. And you know what happened? I got 1 answer to my prayer @ January 10.:-) And 2 other answers are floating and will happen 6 months from now.How is that? This is something I have prayed for and it happened!! And the best thing about it, is that I did not received it because I am good or I am the best, I received it simply becasue of the favor of God. The Bible says that He will cause us to be at the right place and at the right time.:-). This is just the beginning soon I will have a Bible study again.:-). I 've been praying that God will use me as He has used Ate Joy C. and guess what? It's floating and the answer is coming up without me even lifting a finger to make it happen.

Praise the Lord!

Let these words be a testimony that God is not deaf or sleeping or dead; God is alive and He is awake and ready to hear and answer our prayers!

Failure is inevitable. Whether we like it or not, we will fail.
If that is so... should we fear failure?

Silence

why try silencing the crowd?
do you need to prove anything?

so what if you missed succeeding this time?
will it make you a lesser man than anybody else?

so what if they think you are a fool?
will that make you a fool?

so what if you failed?
does it mean you are never gonna succeed?

It's so sad... i left like I'm being backstabbed... sort of betrayed... silently kicked in the ass!!!!!!

I would have appreciated it if the person just settled whatever it feels against me in person.
I know our culture really avoids confrontation and I myself is a bit afraid to confront any person but still it would have been better if it just said it in my face.

I have my preferrences.. one of them is for it to be honest with what it feels against me.
But since it acted differently from my preferrence... then I'll live with it. I think... I can live this way... to prefer and understand rather than to demand. Probably if I'm it I would have acted the same way.. I would have backstabbed myself. Still.. I will not fall to mild fatalism.. like my friend fall into. I just don't buy-in to that crap.

This is a sad post... it's sad... but hey! the world is still intack and God is still in control. :)
hmmm... I missed doing my assignment yesterday. I didn't find the time to do it.

Yesterday was my second day in IELTS [International English Language Training System] class and I was late for the second time. And today, I am going to be late again since I came in the office at 8:46 in the morning, that means I am get out from the office at 6:22pm.

It seems that the holidays really got into my system; Unlike before, I can easily wake-up at 6am now, waking up at 7:30 is a chore. I will try to take a nap during the weekends so that I can take a good rest. Hopefully I can avoid being stressed-out next week.

Stress, happens to be my assignment yesterday. So decided to write and post it today.

==================Assignment===================

"Pain in the back area." - That's usually how stress starts for me. Whenever I feel a bit of numbing pain in my back then that means that if I don't do something about it, sooner or later I will get stressed-out. Sooner or later, I won't just be feeling pain in my back but I will also be feeling pain in my neck, arms, hips, and legs. And feeling all those pain will then negatively affect my work, my creativity, my endurance, my sleep, and the way I relate with people.

So, how do I get pain in the back? Well, I'm really not sure how but usually, I'm starting to get the numbing pain when I feel that I didn't have enough sleep or rest. Usually, if I get successive nights of less than an 8-hour sleep, then I began to feel pain in my back. Sometimes, I think that stress is just in the mind and if I really train my mind not to think about it that much then I think I won't feel stressed-out.

Probably one reason I get back-pains is that I'm always sitting down because of the nature of my work and so with less movements, there is a big probabilty of getting back-ache.

Year-Ender Post

Moments from now... we will say "bye-bye" to 2005 and say "hello" to 2006.
To most people here in our place, the way they say "bye-bye" is by burning money - lots of them. :(
This is a sad thing to see but it's tradition and from experience, tradition is a very hard thing to change. So, I'll just mind my own business and watch them burn there money.:)

I'm looking at 2006 as the year of action. I feel that this is a year where we roll-up our sleeves and get our hands dirty. This could be the year of great harvest [savings] though I read that the year of greater harvests [for those who are working smart] will start on 2008. Hmmmm... I am not playing psychic or anything.. just feeling the whole thing.

So I am very excited about this whole thing. The future is indeed an exciting topic. My friend once said, "Let's not talk about the past. Let's talk about the future and then we will be happy."

Looking at the future... I can say only 2 words..."Akin Yan!!!!" :D

from P.Mitch's blog

"poise under pressure"- like this one.:)

sometimes i get to be emotional that i set my logic aside.:)
I forgot my poise and dwell on pressure.

Very true.. pressures are just in the head and not in the hand.:)
This year i learned to lift up my arms and hands to the Lord...
"God you know what I am going through... I know you have great plans for me.
I am created for a special calling and purpose. I trust in you alone. Deliver me from this situation."

And God really... as in really answers prayers.

I realized that I am soft person and I am easily moved [sometimes cry] by deep emotions.

When I was young, my classmates would always tease me since I cry easily [even when I am angry]. I thought something is wrong with me; I thought, I was gay or something so I tried not to cry when I feel grief or any heavy emotion. When my eyes starts to water... I would look away and think of my something else that will keep me from crying. Still, sometimes, I cannot hold them all - I ended up breaking down.

I later realized that nothing is wrong with crying. In fact, I think the bravest thing a man could do is to shed his tears on a cry-able situation, in front of people who might tease him or doubt his sexual preferrence after the event. Crying is simply being true to yourself and to others.

I loved crying in cry-able events. It will not show that I am weak, it simply says I am man enough to admit that I feel something.:)

Stating the Obvious

Is blogging just another way to be heard?
Is blogging just another cry to say... "hear me out OK"?

If not then.. why not just write all your thoughts in a notebook/diary.
If you say you don't like writing and prefer typing.. then why not just type in a word processor and save it in a hidden-lock-private folder.
If you say that web is better than word processor then why not learn html and create a local website to post and read.
If you say you are too tired to learn then.. I would say, this is something very hard for me to believe.
Why?
Because, throught time, people has been very sensitive when it comes to protecting their privacy. I heard of a lot people who would kill just to protect that privacy. How much more leard something.. to protect your own privacy.

Blogging is a bit of an oxymoron... it's a private thing but is really a public thing.
Some people type/write private emotions/events/informations in it to just express private matters but is really available publicly.
It's a private expression which can be a public displayed.
With a bit of chance and accidental browsing in the internet... your private thoughts could just be read by anybody - people you know and you don't know.
Sometimes, I wonder why are people so confident posting such private stuffs when they are aware that those stuffs that they posted could be easily read by anybody.
Why?
Probably because there is still a bit of reservation for a blogger...
There is what we call a plan B beneath every post.. meaning, "just in case [name] founds out"
this will be how it looks like.

So what's my point? Nothing.... just....stating the obvious.
Josiah: i have a looooooot to read...
[inserted] Josiah: It's even a miracle i am still able to post.
Josiah: haaay.. i felt like i was just wasting my time solving ptrs...
Josiah: last week..
Josiah: i should hv studied..
Josiah: bt thinking bout it.. i would have not appreciated studying if i didnt solve ptrs..
Josiah: in totality... no regrets..

Lesson learned: between two good things... just pick one.. no sweat..

#5 my sisters - if my mentors taught me to dream big, they thought me to dream. They taufght me to move forward and not be contented with where we are. They taught me to survive. Some of them sacrificed their personal agenda just for me to succeed. I learned from them, their experiences about my father, because of that, I had painted in my mind, a great father who is committed to my succees. So more or less, I have felt the love of my father even though I was not able to experienced him as I grew up.

#6 my friends in the office - my team. They are very supportive people. They contibuted a lot of my personality. We both learned from each other. There are a lot of things I would say bout each of them but this will make this post longer.

#7 people in church that inspired me - surely God placed them there to inspire me. "Oh my all who come behind us find us faithful."

Thank you Pastor Mitch for inspiring me to write this one.

Looking back, this year, 2005 has been a different year for me. For one, this is my first year of being a full employee of Lexmark and receiving my regular income has been a test for me; my faithfulness in handling my finances is very much being tested. This is not about returning the tithes and giving the offering but about what happens to the remaining 85% of my income. This year, I learned (not fully learned though) a lot in that area and my desire to really be disciplined and be faithful grew. Another is, I have meet more men of God this year than any year in my life so far, there's Rev. Tony Pool, Vins Santiago, Georgian Banov, Pstr. Ted [forgot his last name.. it sounds like "labas!"... kidding sounds like Manlangit], Pstr. Carding Siok [bata ako ni Lord], Pstr. Aljef [fruits that lasts], Pstr. [Bimbol-rocco-look-a-like] and some other pastors and evangelists. Thank you Lord for bringing me people who challenge me to go beyond where I am today. Another is I have read[on my own] and owned more books this year than any year in my life so far. And I have dreamed bigger dreams [and achieve some of them] this year than any other year in my life so far. Also I think I have grown faster, this year than any other year so far. Praise the Lord for that!

This Sunday, we will celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday and here is my partial list of people I thank the Lord for. Lord thank you for:
#1. My mom, Evangeline Librero - my hero. The lady who gave up a lot of things for me. The lady whose passion for the Lord is my inspiration. She is not perfect but I loved her not only because she is my mother but because she is love-worthy. If you are me you will understand what I am saying, you would probably say, "who would not love a mother like that." She is probably the first person who believes in me.

#2. my mentors - Pastor Noel and Pastor Siony. They believed in me and they help me grew as a person. They are committed to be used by God and as a result, I grew as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I learned that the Lord has really great plans for my life because they never stopped [until now] teaching and inculcating that fact in my spirit.

#3. my gilfriend - Joyce Marie Galindo. She is the second person, I express my dreams, hopes and fears to. She believed in me, she belived that I can make our future brighter. She thinks I can do many things and I can make things happen. She appreciates every single thing I do. Though, sometimes we argued, she still loved me. She thinks I have what it takes to make my dreams a reality. I was never afraid in telling her my dreams because I know she will fuel it.

#4. my media friends - Kuya Joe, my leader, he is always patient on me and appreacites my ideas. He sees the same future that I am seeing and is committed to pursue it. I learned a lot from him; Mel, she my very close friend, I thank God for her maturity. Her growth is always my joy. She makes me feel trustworthy and she always pruds me to go on; Gerard, he does a lot of things better than me and I thank the Lord for that. Without him, I can't imagine a lot of things in the team. He makes the world rounder; Dave, his maturity has been my inspiration. My trust for him grew in every moment; Tiff, her thoughtfulness always touches me. There are a lot of details that I overlook but she catches them as easy as ABC. When I look at the Tiff before and the Tiff she definitely has grown to be a better person.

#5. my sisters - [to be continued]
